Brushing Teeth?

2 of my children hate brushing their teeth.I don%26#039;t know if they don%26#039;t like the taste of the toothpaste or they just generally don%26#039;t like brushing their teeth.I%26#039;ve tried kids toothpaste,flavors like bubble gum,watermelon,strawberry and even a few more.They just don%26#039;t like the brush their teeth.Is there a toothpaste you think a 6 and 7 year old might like or a cool toothbrush that will be fun for them to use?

Most kids don%26#039;t like to brush their teeth. There%26#039;s a product on the market now that turns their teeth blue where there%26#039;s plaque. Kids are really supposed to love it. It helps them see where they need to brush and it%26#039;s fun because their teeth turn blue. I%26#039;m sorry I can%26#039;t think of the name right now, but you%26#039;ll see it in the toothpaste isle at the store.
Reply:take the kids to the store and let them pick out a toothbrush and toothpaste they like ,each one for themselves =this might help =good luck
Reply:How about a musical toothbrush. They are inexpensive and battery operated. Also take THEM with you to pick out toothbrushes and paste. If they are due for their 6 month dental checkup ask the dentist or hygenist to show them proper brushing and explain what happens if they don%26#039;t brush etc. If they just had their 6 month checkup not long ago I hope you mentioned your problem to the dentist when you were there. You might also want to try a rewards type chart for good brushing and try some of the liquid that shows where they missed with brushing that turns those missed spots blue. You can buy that in any dental section of you fav store.
Reply:why do north american kids need everything to be catered to them? if they don%26#039;t like to brush their teeth, show them pictures of rotten teeth and ask them to give you their opinion of the pictures. then tell them they will look like that if they don%26#039;t brush their teeth. they will have no friends, no girl/boy friends, no social life, people will call them freaks, they will not get a job or get married, and will die lonely on a couch with potato chips on their stomachs, watching ricki lake or maury mauvich. try that flavor.

Reply:my 6 year old didn%26#039;t like brushing his teeth about a year ago. i took him to the store (with a huge selection of brushes and paste) and let him pick his own. i made a brushing chart for him and used stickers (that he chose) to mark when he brushed his teeth. after he accumulated 50 stickers (took him about a month), i let him choose another tooth brush. after the third new tooth brush, i changed the reward. i still let him pick his own dental supplies now. for the reward, i give him $10 for every 100 stickers he gets. it is a lot of money to a 6 year old, but way cheaper for me than paying the dentist bill!! now he is in the habit of brushing 3 times a day without many reminders.
Reply:there are toothbrushes that play music,ive seen them in the stores and some dentist have these fun toothbrushes with a childs favorite cartoon charecter on them,theyre all over the place try different drug stores such as wallgreens,duane reade,rite aide.once the kids find a tothbrush they like youll have another problem,trying to get them to stop using hose toothbrushes!
