Brushing teeth?
When my daughter was around 15 months I would just hand her the tooth brush (with nothing on it) and she would just put it in her mouth and chew on it. My doctor told me that was a good idea, because it was still cleaning her teeth. After awhile she was so used to having it in her mouth she didn%26#039;t mind me brushing her teeth...
Reply:i like to know the same thing.lol
Reply:i really couldn%26#039;t start a regular routine till mine where 2 years old
Reply:We started around 4 months when the first tooth started to appear. We used a special infant brush that went on our finger, and we brushed and massaged.

Now our son is nearly 2 years old and brushes his own teeth (after we brush his teeth first, of course). You just have to make it fun. They make some fairly nice tasting non-floride toothpaste you can try.
Reply:You should start brushing at about 1 year. Or as soon as your baby has 2 teeth or so. Take a warm (or slightly cold) washcloth and rub her teeth. Say, %26quot;Open up for momma!%26quot;
Reply:Around 2 years old. Get them their own %26quot;special%26quot; toothbrush and let them watch you brush your teeth and show them how FUN it is! And just make it sound like the absolute best thing ever!
Reply:I started actual brushing when she got her first tooth. Before that, I would give her water in her bottle sometimes to prevent decay on her gums. I let my daughter hold the toothbrush herself and watch me brush my teeth so she would imitate my movements. Basically she would just suck the water off the brush but I take it toward the end and quickly brush all the spots she may have missed (much to her dismay!). She is almost 2 and we have a regular brushing routine. Once in the morning, and once after her bath. Its best to brush at least 3 times a day, but if she has to do it any more than 2, she gets cranky and bored with brushing. I still have to mostly brush for her but shes getting the hang of it.
Reply:I started brushing as soon as they were there. I think it is orajel that makes a very mild tooth paste and then you can buy a finger brush. It fits on your finger and you can try to get in there with that.

GOOD LUCK
Reply:I was taught to use a clean wet washcloth and just run it along the baby%26#039;s gums even before they have teeth. this helps them get used to the idea of brushing and also cleans the gums. I did this every so often with my kids before they had teeth and then did it regularly once they had teeth come in. I started using a baby tooth brush after 2 or 3 teeth were in. Still no tooth paste until around 1 1/2 or 2 years old. Sometimes I gently squish the kids cheeks together to get them to open their mouth, just like when a curious baby puts something in there that they could choke on and you have to get it back.
Reply:I started wiping my babies%26#039; gums with a washcloth around 3-4 months, right after a bottle. I know hygenically it%26#039;s a little pointless, but I wanted them to get used to me cleaning their mouth/teeth. I don%26#039;t know if it was starting that early or if my oldest is just predisposed to being a good %26#039;tooth brusher%26#039;, but I%26#039;ve never had problems with her not wanting her teeth brushed.
Reply:buy them a i-tunes tooth brush,my kids enjoy them,,we started about when they were about 1 and a half..
Reply:With my oldest we started gum brushing really young (6 months maybe) from time to time, but brushing teeth when he got his first one at 13 months. We encouraged him by letting him brush our teeth then we%26#039;d brush his teeth. Now, at 2.5 years he LOVES to brush his teeth. The rule is we brush them first then he gets to give it his best shot.

My youngest just got his first tooth a month ago (he%26#039;s 8 months) and I still haven%26#039;t brushed it b/c he just seems so little to do that. I will start soon though.
