Brushing teeth?

I have a 11 month old baby with 5 teeth, how soon should you start brushing them, I know it%26#039;s going to be a chore.

Brushing teeth?
I started from a few weeks old with a washcloth over my finger just so she would get used to the feeling. Start now. Make it fun for the baby. Orajel makes a toddler/baby toothpaste that is safe if they swallow a little bit. Visit the dentist at about 1 1/2 years old though, just to make sure teeth are coming in right.
Reply:You can star brushing them now they have special toothpaste and tooth brushes for babies. My daughters first was Gerber grins and giggles.
Reply:As soon as they get teeth, they have special toothbrushes and toothpaste for babies.
Reply:with a soft toothbrush
Reply:i say, let them rott, just kidding, mayb once u should wait till he/she grows more teeth
Reply:I agree with now, but you wouldn%26#039;t even need toothpaste. Just a small toothbrush and water would work until he knows what you%26#039;re doing and how to do it.
Reply:my baby having teeth at his 3,5 month. I start brushing his teeth soon after I see it come out
Reply:Yes! You need to start as soon as they get them. You can buy baby tooth brushes anywhere. Also they should see a pediatric dentist 6 months after the FIRST tooth comes in.
Reply:it%26#039;s not as hard as you think. my son had 6 teeth by 8mo and i let him play with the toothbrush ( it actually helped w/the whole teething process). now every morning, he is now 14.5 mo, when i am brushing mine he HAS to have his toothbrush and he just goes to town. he watches me intensely and mimics my brushing. so just get your baby accustomed to the brush and it won%26#039;t be a problem at all!!
Reply:you should start brushing their teeth right after the first tooth pops out. so since you havent you should start right away. and yes, it is definately a chore with little ones, i have a 14 month old and my hubby and i have to brush her teeth as a team, one to hold her down, and the other to brush the teeth, it is really hard sometimes. the easiest one to use is the one that goes over your finger. good luck.

Brushing teeth?
When my daughter was around 15 months I would just hand her the tooth brush (with nothing on it) and she would just put it in her mouth and chew on it. My doctor told me that was a good idea, because it was still cleaning her teeth. After awhile she was so used to having it in her mouth she didn%26#039;t mind me brushing her teeth...
Reply:i like to know the same thing.lol
Reply:i really couldn%26#039;t start a regular routine till mine where 2 years old
Reply:We started around 4 months when the first tooth started to appear. We used a special infant brush that went on our finger, and we brushed and massaged.

Now our son is nearly 2 years old and brushes his own teeth (after we brush his teeth first, of course). You just have to make it fun. They make some fairly nice tasting non-floride toothpaste you can try.
Reply:You should start brushing at about 1 year. Or as soon as your baby has 2 teeth or so. Take a warm (or slightly cold) washcloth and rub her teeth. Say, %26quot;Open up for momma!%26quot;
Reply:Around 2 years old. Get them their own %26quot;special%26quot; toothbrush and let them watch you brush your teeth and show them how FUN it is! And just make it sound like the absolute best thing ever!
Reply:I started actual brushing when she got her first tooth. Before that, I would give her water in her bottle sometimes to prevent decay on her gums. I let my daughter hold the toothbrush herself and watch me brush my teeth so she would imitate my movements. Basically she would just suck the water off the brush but I take it toward the end and quickly brush all the spots she may have missed (much to her dismay!). She is almost 2 and we have a regular brushing routine. Once in the morning, and once after her bath. Its best to brush at least 3 times a day, but if she has to do it any more than 2, she gets cranky and bored with brushing. I still have to mostly brush for her but shes getting the hang of it.
Reply:I started brushing as soon as they were there. I think it is orajel that makes a very mild tooth paste and then you can buy a finger brush. It fits on your finger and you can try to get in there with that.

GOOD LUCK
Reply:I was taught to use a clean wet washcloth and just run it along the baby%26#039;s gums even before they have teeth. this helps them get used to the idea of brushing and also cleans the gums. I did this every so often with my kids before they had teeth and then did it regularly once they had teeth come in. I started using a baby tooth brush after 2 or 3 teeth were in. Still no tooth paste until around 1 1/2 or 2 years old. Sometimes I gently squish the kids cheeks together to get them to open their mouth, just like when a curious baby puts something in there that they could choke on and you have to get it back.
Reply:I started wiping my babies%26#039; gums with a washcloth around 3-4 months, right after a bottle. I know hygenically it%26#039;s a little pointless, but I wanted them to get used to me cleaning their mouth/teeth. I don%26#039;t know if it was starting that early or if my oldest is just predisposed to being a good %26#039;tooth brusher%26#039;, but I%26#039;ve never had problems with her not wanting her teeth brushed.
Reply:buy them a i-tunes tooth brush,my kids enjoy them,,we started about when they were about 1 and a half..
Reply:With my oldest we started gum brushing really young (6 months maybe) from time to time, but brushing teeth when he got his first one at 13 months. We encouraged him by letting him brush our teeth then we%26#039;d brush his teeth. Now, at 2.5 years he LOVES to brush his teeth. The rule is we brush them first then he gets to give it his best shot.

My youngest just got his first tooth a month ago (he%26#039;s 8 months) and I still haven%26#039;t brushed it b/c he just seems so little to do that. I will start soon though.

Brushing teeth??

my daughter is 9 months old and she got 6 teeth.

and how??

becouse my baby doesnt like it so we r really suffering with that

thank u for any answer

Brushing teeth??
Once a day should be enough...
Reply:use a nice soft toothbrush twice a day and when she gets old enough to do her own let her have a battery or electric one as it regulates how hard she will be brushing them
Reply:Twice really but if you are having a problem once is probably ok, have you tried a musical toothbrush maybe this would help a bit.x.
Reply:At nine months she is obviously still teething so her gums and teeth will be sore, i%26#039;m sure once a day will be fine.
Reply:you should be brushing your babies teeth twice a day %26amp; if its the taste your baby doesnt like try a strawberry flavored one
Reply:twice a day with a soft brush. try out some nice flavoured toothpaste. I am sure your baby will love it..
Reply:It%26#039;s recommended to brush twice a day, but the night time brushing is the most important. Make it a part of your normal bedtime routine %26amp; brush after the last feeding.

In any infant section of a store, they sell toothpaste without flouride and it%26#039;s flavored so that might help with your daughter liking it more.

Good Luck
Reply:I talked to my dentist about this, and she said at that age, it%26#039;s really just having them practice so they do it when they get older. A very soft tooth brush with a character or something you daughter likes on it should be perfect. In the morning when you brush your teeth, bring her in and let her watch you brush your teeth and even let her brush your teeth so she knows that it is okay to use a tooth brush. She may be a little young to understand what you are doing, but you can do it anyways. Get it ready with some baby friendly tooth paste and just show her what to do with it. Don%26#039;t force her to do it. Just let her slowly do it herself. She most likely will just suck the tooth paste off and move the tooth brush around her mouth, but at least she knows that this is what she is supposed to do. When she has all of her baby teeth, have her really start brushing her teeth 2 times a day, but for now, once a day is absolutely fine!

Good Luck!
Reply:TWICE A DAY REALLY GET A FINGER TOOTH BRUSH FROM BOOTS THEY SLIP ON YOUR FINGER FOR EASIER BRUSHING.

GIVE YOUR DAUGHTER A TOOTH BRUSH TO HOLD WILE DOING IT AND LET HER SEE YOU BRUSHING YOUR TEETH TOO.
Reply:It should be twice a day. Try making a game of it, singing a song while you brush. Also, brush your teeth before you do hers, she%26#039;ll want to do it more when she sees mom or dad doing it.
Reply:my son is 9 months and we just brush when we can, sometimes this is only once every other day but he has 6 teeth comming through and we dont want to have him in anymore discomfort, maybe she has more teeth comming that are tender
Reply:i would suggest because she doesn%26#039;t like to brush at all, once is fine for now until she can adapt to it.Good luck!
Reply:twice a day but if your having trouble with it maybe just do it once a day until she gets a bit more used to it
Reply:once a day should be enough for this age, but maybe let her have some time to just chew on her tooth brush before or after brushing

my son is two and loves brushing his teeth not so keen on having me do his teeth properly but we went through a few weeks of screaming when ever i brushed his teeth and now he just lets brush his teeth then once i am done he can finish up

Brushing teeth........?

i find it reli hard to brush my teeth everyday and basically only do it like everyweek literally but my teeth dont go black...i just want some tips on how to keep regularly brushing my teeth?

Brushing teeth........?
I%26#039;m the same as you. The only way I remember (in the morning at least) is by making it the first thing I do when I go in the bathroom. I find a %26#039;bit%26#039; easier to remember in the evening - probably because my teeth feel grubbier at the end of the day. I also keep my toothbrush and toothpaste where I can see them. If I hid them in a cupboard, I%26#039;d be less likely to remember the teeth cleaning.

There was a time, a few years ago, when I was clinically depressed and neglected my teeth for some time. Consequently, one of my front teeth is damaged, one had to be filled and another one pulled out. You%26#039;d think all this would remind me but I still forget occasionally.
Reply:Breathe on someone at least once a day - they should tell you to go and brush your teeth. (Providing they survive the nauseating experience of your breath)
Reply:Just make it into a routine... Find something you do everyday - like brushing yoru hair, then do it just before that.

Also although your teeth may not be going black, they will probably still be decaying.

And sorry to say this but it also probably means that you will have bad breath - you might not notice it by your friends and family will...

Good luck - do try to brush more - the results will be worth it!
Reply:What on earth do you find hard?

Get yourself a good medium bristled toothbrush; I find Oral B the best. Ask your Pharmacist to recommend a good toothpaste that will leave your mouth feeling fresh and your breath smelling sweet. Imagine what it must be like to kiss someone with smelly breath and dirty teeth, eeuw!

Get yourself into a routine and DON%26#039;T deviate from it!
Reply:It is very gross not to brush your teeth, every day ,at leasr twice a day.Not to mention flossing and using moutwash to keep it clean and fresh until next morning. How do you leave the house without brushing your teeth?I am sure you have bad breth.and your teeth may not go black, but they will get ratten pretty soon.As humans our mouth is the dirtheist place on our body, you need to keep it clean.Try at least every night before bed brush those teeth.Don%26#039;t you feel good after brushing?don%26#039;t you like the feeling?
Reply:NEVER use a medium bristle toothbrush. only use soft bristles. ask you dentist about that. nothing else is acceptable.

for the last month i%26#039;ve been taking a friend for her dental visits. she%26#039;s 50 years old and admits she always neglected her teeth. i%26#039;ve watched get teeth pulled, root canals, fillings, and all other types of ungodly procedures done. it has been excruciating just watching. she leaves the office week after week with tears in her eyes and sore knuckles from gripping the chair so tightly. i never want to know what its like to have that done to my own mouth. because i%26#039;ve watched her suffer so much i%26#039;ve come to the decision that i will never again neglect my teeth.

when it comes to dental care, you%26#039;re not talking about having pain or discolored teeth for the next couple years. you%26#039;re talking about having horrible oral decay for the next fifty years IF your teeth last that long.

do WHATEVER it takes to get your teeth in order. you%26#039;ll be paying for an awfully long time if you don%26#039;t. in addition to the pain you%26#039;ll also pay with your wallet cuz dental care is extremely expensive.

and remember, there is nothing sexy about a toothless mouth.
Reply:i cant believe people forget to brush their teeth everyday, when you wake up in the morning don%26#039;t you feel the inside of your mouthis a bit rank? to say the least, dont you have morning breath?

I cant fathom people who %26#039;forget to brush their teeth%26#039; its one of our BASIC hygiene routines
Reply:if it doesnt smell or turn black, I cant see the reason why you are obligated to brush it.

Please serious answers.

Brushing Teeth?
Buy an electric RECHARGEABLE brush. I like the Oral B Braun because you can have a round ortho brush head that fits over the brackets and a head that is pointed to put between the teeth or in tight areas. Sonicare is another popular brush. A water pik is also good for braces, messy, but good. Have your teeth cleaned at least every 6 months. Brush 2 - 3 times a day, floss the areas you can or use your waterpik and pointed head faithfully. Rinse or brush with Prescription strength fluoride if not everyday at least a few times a week. (Get this from dentist). Watch the soda pop intake and sweets. You are more susceptible to decay because it is hard to keep teeth cleaned with braces. Use ibuprofen prior and after your ortho appointments...you will have soreness for several hours that first day. Keep the gum line under the bracket very clean. This area is easy to miss and if it bleeds.....keep brushing it. Don%26#039;t avoid an area that bleeds, it needs the attention because plaque is accumulating there and keeping it inflammed.
Reply:You%26#039;re very welcome. Report It

Reply:well i have braces and its hard just brush and brush after every meal, that should do it.
Reply:Its really hard to keep your teeth white with braces that%26#039;s why they usally bleach them after you get your braces taken off. Ask your dentist.
Reply:i once had braces and found it quite difficult to keep them looking as good as they were when i didn%26#039;t have them. but the best way to keep them clean is to clean them AT LEAST 2 times a day! make sure you get right into brackets. also this may seem weird but to make sure you clean them properly and for a good length of time listen to your ipod, mp3 or favourite song. brush your teeth for the whole duration of the song.

*also there is not just one tooth paste that will be good just be sure to use a whitening as well as strengthening!

*also i brought a really small tooth brush called and inter space toothbrush. it has a small head small enough to get between the brackets and in between!

good luck and i hope this helped but also remember dont do anything drastic or silly just be patient and also if you can%26#039;t get the whiteness while your braces are on you can of course do so afterwards!

good luck hope this helped!
Reply:just brush your teeth for like almost 2min at least twice a day and definitely before bed. cut down on sugary foods, not extremely but just avoid soda and the types of candy that are made of pure sugar. flossing with braces is a pain in the butt but try to floss a couple times a week. try Crest Prohealth rinse and as for toothpaste use what ever kind you want. pink is the best color for the rubberbands. Hope you don%26#039;t have to have them for too long. I was lucky; only needed them for 10months, getting them off next week.

Brushing Teeth?

2 of my children hate brushing their teeth.I don%26#039;t know if they don%26#039;t like the taste of the toothpaste or they just generally don%26#039;t like brushing their teeth.I%26#039;ve tried kids toothpaste, flavors like bubble gum, watermelon, strawberry and even a few more. They just don%26#039;t like the brush their teeth. Is there a toothpaste you think a 6 and 7 year old might like or a cool toothbrush that will be fun for them to use?

Thanks,Donna

Most kids don%26#039;t like to brush their teeth. There%26#039;s a product on the market now that turns their teeth blue where there%26#039;s plaque. Kids are really supposed to love it. It helps them see where they need to brush and it%26#039;s fun because their teeth turn blue. I%26#039;m sorry I can%26#039;t think of the name right now, but you%26#039;ll see it in the toothpaste isle at the store.
Reply:take the kids to the store and let them pick out a toothbrush and toothpaste they like ,each one for themselves =this might help =good luck
Reply:How about a musical toothbrush. They are inexpensive and battery operated. Also take THEM with you to pick out toothbrushes and paste. If they are due for their 6 month dental checkup ask the dentist or hygenist to show them proper brushing and explain what happens if they don%26#039;t brush etc. If they just had their 6 month checkup not long ago I hope you mentioned your problem to the dentist when you were there. You might also want to try a rewards type chart for good brushing and try some of the liquid that shows where they missed with brushing that turns those missed spots blue. You can buy that in any dental section of you fav store.
Reply:why do north american kids need everything to be catered to them? if they don%26#039;t like to brush their teeth, show them pictures of rotten teeth and ask them to give you their opinion of the pictures. then tell them they will look like that if they don%26#039;t brush their teeth. they will have no friends, no girl/boy friends, no social life, people will call them freaks, they will not get a job or get married, and will die lonely on a couch with potato chips on their stomachs, watching ricki lake or maury mauvich. try that flavor.

here%26#039;s a pic of rotten teeth:

Reply:my 6 year old didn%26#039;t like brushing his teeth about a year ago. i took him to the store (with a huge selection of brushes and paste) and let him pick his own. i made a brushing chart for him and used stickers (that he chose) to mark when he brushed his teeth. after he accumulated 50 stickers (took him about a month), i let him choose another tooth brush. after the third new tooth brush, i changed the reward. i still let him pick his own dental supplies now. for the reward, i give him $10 for every 100 stickers he gets. it is a lot of money to a 6 year old, but way cheaper for me than paying the dentist bill!! now he is in the habit of brushing 3 times a day without many reminders.
Reply:there are toothbrushes that play music, ive seen them in the stores and some dentist have these fun toothbrushes with a childs favorite cartoon charecter on them, theyre all over the place try different drug stores such as wallgreens, duane reade, rite aide.once the kids find a tothbrush they like youll have another problem, trying to get them to stop using hose toothbrushes!
Reply:Getting your kids to brush their teeth can be a daily battle. Not any more! TOOTH TUNES is here to help put an end to those battles. TOOTH TUNES is a new, revolutionary toothbrush for kids that makes brushing their teeth fun and entertaining.

Your kids will love brushing their teeth to their favorite hit songs from some of their favorite artists. As sound vibrations stream from the bristles through their teeth, they hear the music in their heads. But, when they stop brushing, the music stops playing in their head. So they’ll actually want to keep brushing for a full two minutes!

Some of the music artists include Hannah Montana, Black Eyed Peas, High School Musical, B5, Queen, Kelly Clarkson, Hilary Duff, Aly %26amp; AJ, The Cheetah Girls and many more.
