Brushing teeth with canker sore?

I have a canker sore on my side gums. My toothpaste has SLS in it and until I can get to the store to find some toothpaste without SLS, what can I use to brush my teeth with? I usually brush before bed and when I get up. Would using the warm water and baking soda solution I'm using for my sore help clean my teeth?

I don't think you can use a canker sore to brush your teeth.

Ok, I'm being literal here because of the way you worded your question.

If you want to get rid of a canker sore, use hydrogen peroxide. Swish it around in your mouth for 1 minute 3 times a day and your sores will be gone in less than 2 days. Do not swallow the hydrogen peroxide because it could upset your stomach. This really works wonders!
Reply:baking soda or salt.

The salt may even help to get rid of the sore.
Reply:Baking soda should work OK. It might even help neutralize the canker sore and get it to heal. My mother puts peroxide on a Q Tip and then on the canker sore and it helps heal it faster. Only do that once because peroxide kills the skin and you don't want the new healthy skin to die
