If you have braces, but barely brushed your teeth before and you start brushing well afterwards what will....?

If you had braces for 3 years. And before that three years you barely brushed your teeth at all and they were really yellow. But after you had got braces you start brushing everyday and well. What would your teeth look like after you take them off?

If you have braces, but barely brushed your teeth before and you start brushing well afterwards what will....?
Still yellow, but there will be no stain from the braces.
Reply:You might have stains, but they can be easily fixed with a bleach product from the dentist or from the drug store. Don't worry about it, it won't be a big deal.
Reply:Ew. They will be a slightly lighter yellow, but you will have gross small circles on each of your teeth. Should have brushed...
Reply:Yellowish...Plaque! YEahhh.. :D
Reply:You'll have yellow spots where the brackets were. I'm sure you can get rid of those somehow though. And if you don't brush your teeth well when they have braces, you can get cavities behind the brackets. And let me tell you, that's just no fun at all.
Reply:They would probably look better because not only will they be straight, but they will also be healthier because you started brushing your teeth more. If you really want to get them whiter brush twice a day for at least 30 seconds each time.
Reply:you might have white teeth and then yellow spots where the brackets were. my brother actually fell on his scooter and hit the ground so hard that his front two teeth each got a dark stain on the front from the pavement so he got them bleached and now they're fine.
Reply:Not sure. Try the Crest Whitestrips maybe?
Reply:When I had braces and I developed better brushing skills then when I didnt have them, but my teeth weren't yellow. but I was never left with yellow coloring. The only thing I have left is some glue on my back molars that the Orthodontist cant get off with out doing damage. I suggest a whitening mouthwash and a baking soda toothpaste.
Reply:Actually if you don't brush your teeth while having braces the areas outside of the brace will have plaque build-ups and be stained yellow while what is safe and well underneath the suctions of the braces will be pearly or ivory white,. Therefore, your teeth will look odd, because they will look like they have been bleached where the suctions covered which will make it look like you have major plaque problems, because plaque is naturally white, some will even notice that those areas are imprints of what were braces. I had braces and made sure to brush quite often and even then there was at one point a defining line between the areas that were under the suctions and the areas that weren't. This is not a fear tactic, it is for your own health, a protection from building up diseases if you will.

I think that not brushing your teeth will almost defeat the purpose of getting braces anyway, because the teeth will be stained and look abnormal, which is never the goal. I've posted a link to what the stains will look like below. It's safe to brush no matter what, it's also a good habit. Also there are some tips on how to take care of your teeth with braces.
