Is brushing your teeth with soap safe?

I have heard that brushing youre teeth with soap is good for teeth. Is that true? If it is, should I use liquid soap or bar soap?

Is brushing your teeth with soap safe?
Yes, it's perfectly safe. Use bar soap. I use safeguard. I've been brushng with it for about 9 months now. The last time I went to the dentist my gums were the best they have ever been. Just make sure to rinse well.

Using soap is a good way of avoiding fluoride. Fluoride has been linked to thyroid problems, among other things. If I don't use soap, I use Toms of Maine toothpaste without fluoride.
Reply:no. Soap can irritate the mouth and tongue, and then lead to infections in the mouth.
Reply:You're a true masochist if you brush your teeth with soap. It tastes horrible! Also, I don't see how it could be good for your teeth.

This is good though:

baking soda and peroxide. Dab your toothbrush in peroxide and then in baking soda, then brush.

This doesn't taste much better than soap but it IS good for your teeth and gums.
Reply:However told you that must be laughing their butt off about now.
Reply:I don't think it would taste good, but go with whatever works with you.
Reply:What makes Toothpaste so good for your teeth is the fluoride it contains. Soap is useless as it contains no fluoride and is likely to irritate your mouth, with no benefits.
Reply:Why would you use soap? Are you craving it, because if you are you may have a mineral deficiency. The disorder is called pica. Go see a doc and he/she can do some blood work and see what's going on. If you just want to use soap, I would suggest you don't do it babe, just use some crest.
Reply:Soap will not affect your mouth, but it will give you diarrhea if ingested
Reply:who told u that?? ...did u ever taste a soap??((it's bitter))...use the toothpaste and save ur mouth taste.
