When to start brushing babies teeth and what to use?
You should definitely be brushing his teeth, and be sure to use an infant toothbrush. There is infant/toddler toothpaste that does not have flouride in it - you should use that untilhe is old enough to learn how to spit out toothpaste instead of swallowing it (which will probably be around 3 years old).
Reply:What you are doing is fine.
Reply:yeah and use a kids toothpaste, and not too much. look for kids toothpaste adults toothpaste is to strong for his gums
Reply:thats good for now, although they do make toddler toothpaste that doesnt have flouride.
Reply:put some tooth paste on ur finger (sry idk what kind...) then LIGHTLY go side to side on his teeth. =]
Reply:thats fine! They do have things you can buy.. infant toothpaste and little infant brushes! Good Luck!
Reply:Johnson and Johnson makes a baby tooth paste that is safe for them to swallow. You can get this at any local pharmacy or Babies-R-Us type store, over the counter.
Reply:call your dentist lol

yu might want to yu a lil kid tooth paste and water it down
Reply:You can get Baby Orajel Tooth %26amp; Gum Clenser
Reply:Gerber and Oragel both make a tooth and gum cleaning kit for babies. It comes with a tube of special toothpaste and a little soft rubber brush you put on your finger so you can gently clean their teeth and gums. It's about $5-$8 depending on where you shop. The little brush also feels good on their gums as they're teething. :) As your son reaches toddler age, switch to an extra soft kids' toothbrush and Oragel also makes toddler training toothpaste.
Reply:you can buy toothpaste that is suitable for babies at the supermarket, if not there than the chemist/pharmacy and if you still cant find any ask your doctor. you should start brushing there teeth when the have teeth to brush, you can also buy babies toothbrushes. DO NOT USE A NORMAL SIZED TOOTHBRUSH
Reply:WELL I WOULD CONSIDER TALKING TO A DENTIST. BUT IF U GO TO THE STORE THEY HAVE BABY TOOTHPASTE AND THAT WELL GIVE U AN IDEA OF WHAT AGES ARE APPROPRIATE
Reply:They make infant and toddler tooth paste and brushes. You can find them in the baby section.
Reply:you can use fluoride toothpaste as long as you use very little. About the amount of a grain of rice.
Reply:As soon as a baby gets its first tooth you can start brushing the teeth. Get a special baby toothbrush from the drugstore, as they have softer bristles. Most babies wont mind because its kind of massage like.

Also as soon as a baby gets its first tooth you can bring them to the dentist for its first checkup.
Reply:Visit the toothpaste section of the supercenter. they have special toothpastes and brushes that are especially made for baby's to toddlers. They come in "stages" while I'm not exactly sure what the stages are, I know that the stages should take you through 3 yrs. of age.

Consult a local children dentist for more recommendations.
Reply:I like Gerber Infants tooth and gum cleanser, its got a "toothbrush" that slips on your finger and massages their gums, and a non-flouride -safe to swallow "toothpaste" .. my kids loved me using that when they were teething. Its for 3 months and up.
Reply:As soon as the teeth appear would be when to start. There are 'training toothpastes" on the market. You should use these, because they are safer than other toothpastes, just in case he swallows some....and he will. Make it fun for him, so he looks forward to it.

Take a look at the website, so you know what you are looking for in the store.
Reply:There are some finger brushes for infants and toddlers which is made of rubber material.. these are good for the soft gums. During giving bath you just clean his tounge and teeth by some soft wet cloth.
Reply:you're doing okay
Reply:As soon as baby has teeth they should be brushed, you can use a little toothpaste there is fruit flavor for kids. You can give the toothbrush to your child the sucking motion will brush them.
Reply:Naughty may be on to something. I wasn't aware that they made a tooth paste for babies that was safe to swallow. What I wanted to say is do what your doing now. Don't use a tooth paste until they can be taught to spit tooth paste out and not swallow it.
Reply:You want to start brushing as soon as the first tooth pokes through. They have baby toothbrushes that are soft that come with TRAINING TOOTHPASTE. You want to make sure the bottle says " safe to swallow" with no flouride in it. Hope this helps :)
Reply:I asked my dentist this question the other day and what I was told was since their teeth at this young of an all age the enamel is still fragel so just taking a little wash cloth and water and gentling rubbing is fine and when they get a little older their is toddler toothpaste and tooth brushes that you can get where the toothpaste is safe to be swallowed
Reply:call ur doctor
